I figured after reading the DSotM discussion I should search this one out.
For the record, my top seven. Apart from the top two which are set in stone, the rest can change depending on day and mood. So, for now: 1. Wish You Were Here 2. Animals 3. The Wall 4. Meddle 5. Obscured By Clouds 6. A Momentary Lapse of Reason 7. Atom Heart Mother

Personal favourites for me, and simply the ones I still return to the most (and I really hate leaving out a fine album like `WYWH'!) :
1. More 2. Piper... 3. Atom Heart Mother 4. Animals 5. Dark Side... 6. Obscured By Clouds 7. The Division Bell But really, they never made a single bad album - and YES, that includes `The Final Cut'! And `The Endless River' is more vaguely satisfying and perfectly enjoyable left-overs at worst. |

1. Wish You Were Here (2. Live at Pompeii) 2. The Dark Side of the Moon 3. A Saucerful of Secrets 4. The Piper at the Gates of Dawn 5. The Final Cut 6. The Wall 7. Meddle But only WYWH is a really great album. There's too much kitschy ooohhoooing on The Dark Side and much too much bombast partly ruins all the good ideas in The Wall. They made some great songs, but also much boring stuff. Interestingly the less kitschy-than-usual Animals is one which I don't like at all. But I enjoy many of their early live stuff, espcially the 2 BBC in Concerts and the Pompeii concert. Well at least John Peel still liked their music, while he absolutely disliked other mainstream Prog bands like Yes and ELP. |

In my opinion, Pink Floyd were
1) a proto prog band until Ummagumma 2) a prog band since Atom Heart mother until Animals 3) a symphonic pop folk band since The Wall to the present. So it's not easy to vote their best albums. They are so different.. But anyway I will evaluate the beauty of their albums. Edited by jamesbaldwin - December 18 2020 at 16:56 |

Surprisingly enough, I hadn't voted (yet) in this poll. Live at Pompeii , but it's out of contest
1. Atom Heart Mother 2. More (got a real soft spot for this one) 3. Dark side of the moon 4. Wish you were here 5. Animals 6. Meddle (end of side 1 is very flawed) 7. A Saucerful of secrets 8. Final Cut 9. The Wall (overheard this and got sick of it) 10. Ummagumma 11. Piper Edited by Sean Trane - December 16 2020 at 04:28 |

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter keep our sand-castle virtues content to be a doer as well as a thinker, prefer lifting our pen rather than un-sheath our sword |

1. The Piper. This one is revolutionary 2. Wish You Were Here. The most proggy 3. Atom Heart Mother. The conversion to prog. 4. Saucerful of Secrets. The suite is a masterpiece 5. The Dark Side of the Moon. Overrated but anyway a classic, this one was revolutionary not for the contents but for the packaging. 6. The Final Cut. First Waters solo album, it's symphonic melodic folk, very good. 7. Ummagumma. It's the connection between two eras. |
