I usually try really hard not to do this, but all the hype surrounding the Decemberists around here was a bit of a turnoff. Plus I had been burned like that with Pure Reason Revolution, never again.

Oh man, the Pure Reason Revolution samples were terrible. I'm glad I listened to it for free, but I'm never going to buy it. It was more enjoyable than Bone and Curlew...
One good thing about having pages of lyrics is that it gives me something to do while I'm listening.

So I tried playing Nihm over my pcs speakers today. Everyone's reaction was pretty obvious. It's depressing really, to think that I may be the only one in a hundred mile radius that even gives music like that a chance.

I think people are much more receptive to progressive music than a lot of forumites are willing to admit, especially in indie circles. The same doesn't hold true for avant-garde music, unfortunately. However I would be willing to bet there is someone else in your community college who likes free jazz.
This was probably my favorite troll noise video for a long time because since it's not just static like Minus Zero it's more offensive:

I have actually watched that video voluntarily before.
I'm sure there is someone, but I haven't met them. One of my favorite things to do when someone has a friend over is to go to youtube and look up Pulse Demon.

Oh I see. I still haven't done a single productive thing all day. I need to get an assignment done for a programming class, but I don't even have the assignment paper.
