I'm going to be useless in practical situations. I meant to type "I was once in junior high school" but instead got "I was once inside of some junior high school students".

Well I think learning C first obfuscates things, because the syntax is almost identical, but the libraries are much more more crappy and annoying to use. I do agree that you should learn the basics before jumping into OOP tho. And I would start out teaching memory management C style, because malloc and free can be used from GNU C++. My 0.02$
