I wasn't as nuts about Morgan Delt as I'd hoped I'd be. It was good though.

They're not the most innovative band ever but they're pretty good. I saw them live.

I have a feeling To Be Kind will be my album of the year once I finally listen to the whole thing (I'm waiting to buy the album). Either that or new Interpol.

But right now, it goes:
Parquet Courts— Sunbathing Animal
Liars— Mess
Cloud Nothings— Here and Nowhere Else
Future Islands— Singles
St. Vincent
Valentin Stip— Sigh

My list is pathetically small right now, though. I really gotta listen to more new stuff, but I'm still going through 2013 albums I missed.

tfw you find a bunch of old family photo albums and really find them endearing! In this case, my Dad's first years, (1931 to 1948) and our family (1978 -1979)
I hadn't seen those photos in such a long time! Our beautiful cats Fred and Sylvester, our home in the seventies, and myself and parents and sisters when they were a lot younger. Also the photos we took of our Winebago camper trip out west to Vancouver, and down to LA and back through the states in '78.
                        Oh, to be young again!

Scott, I am so sorry to hear what happened to your co-worker. May all concerned find the healing road ahead.

Anyhow, turns out my co-worker died yesterday. My boss called me today while I was at lunch to tell me. It happened so damned fast. She was at work on May 6th, went to the hospital, and never left.

Sorry to hear all of this Scott. What a terrible sequence of events.

First, her father developed Parkinson's disease and she had to deal with him until he died, and then shortly thereafter her mother developed Alzheimer's and she was left to deal with her for quite some time. In the meantime, her older brother developed lung cancer and died. When Martha first told us she had lung cancer, it sounded exactly like what had happened with her brother. I guess that we can be comforted in knowing that she didn't suffer for a really long time, but honestly I still really had hope that she would be able to fight it and become a survivor.
It's probably pretty tough for them seeing as there were so many deaths in the family. My condolences and prayers to her friends and family.
