Erm, you're not disagreeing, you're agreeing. Partly, anyhow.
I cannot make moves though and I always misconstrue their interest as something more when they're just being flirty for no reason whatsoever.

What the point of being flirty if you have no interest in the person? I don't get people like that. |
Unless they are interested and I'm just being clueless. There's a girl I know who was out a month or so ago and she's naturally an outgoing person and she was one of those girls who doesn't mind if you put your arm around them or whatever. But I actually like another girl more (who was out the same evening) and she's really quiet, yet such a sweet girl. I would have preferred to have got to know her better but the other girl was sat next to me and being a bit flirty. She cannot be that keen on me, or she'd make an effort in contacting me and meeting up.

I agree. May be weird coming from a guy, but they honestly disgust me. Well not all of course but yeah. It's why I started going to bars and not clubs. I couldn't stand being there. That being said...I may be to laid back. You said a lot of girls are scared to make the first move, even if there may be interest. So you can see where a problem arises with me. Im really not shy, not socially awkward (I dont think) and have no problem talking to girls, per se...just have a hard time getting myself over the hurdle of initiating.
|
Its a hard hurdle to get over. Things get complicated and you risk losing that person as a friend, but sometimes it is worth the risk.

Hehe, no. I need to start being responsible, don't think I could handle everyday life with a hangover! | I am the resident drinker here. Fifteen beers each day.

Exactly. Though as I've complained about often I blew my chance at Uni, and now that I'm out I dont have the luxury of a ton of girls my age at one place. And Jon depends of course on how you feel about writing. I love it. So while the 202 class wasn't bad, I also enjoyed it. If you don't then it may be worse.

I think I do know some guys like that, and yeah, they don't quite get it, or they're lacking in some sort of fundamental knowledge of people's feelings or interests. |
Yeah, I have met one of those a**holes. He didn't care that Conor and I just broke up and I was not interested in seeing anyone. He probably though I would be looking for a rebound and he could get sex out of the deal.

Although I don't mind it myself. It's nice to hear someone of the female persuasion talk about these kinds of things too. Most of my advice comes from other guys, and some of it isn't very good.....

I just don't understand how they fail to recognize even stuff like simple body language.

That's because most guys are (unfortunately) self-centered, egotistical, and uncaring.

It beats me! I think I am better off aiming for the lofty goal of crazy cat lady!

Yeah, it is rare I can actually talk to my buds about such stuff Its usually do whatever is needed to get with her...is what their girl advice comes down to. Edit: Yeah, this girl I had (well still do) a major crush on broke up with he BF a few semesters back. I couldn't bring myself to just pounce right on the chance. Now with someone else. Happens. But I try to take comfort in the fact I wasnt that guy at least, though it sucked still...

That is not completely true but all the good ones are taken and then your left with the a**holes who just want someone to f*ck.

How many do you have? My mate has 8 cats, 2 rats, a hamster and her boyfriend has a snake which also lives there too.

That's not true, Amalia. We're good guys and we're not taken and the girls we like end up with the arseholes.
