Here's the context:

(Posted by a user called Himes on http://www.therealallanholdsworth.com

(...)

I saw Planet X live at Brick by Brick on a sweltering hot night in August 2000 and I will always remember that show for a few reasons. For one, Derek plays his keyboards at a 45 degree angle facing the "crowd". It really makes sense to play this way, as it seems that the wrists would be much more relaxed and it allows a good view of what is going on. The second observation was that this band has a great time playing together, they really seemed to enjoy playing despite the circumstances. I didn't catch the name of the bass player but he was incredible. He was up and down and all over the fretboard without ever really looking at it. He reminded me of Jeff Berlin in that regard. If anyone know what this guys name was, I would like to know. Donati played the tune Dog Boots on a single bass drum. This tune carries 16th notes on bass drum throughout the entire tune, from beggining to end. Word.

And finally, the "circumstances". This show really pissed me off. It was myself and literally 11 other dudes watching it. A "crowd" of 12. I realized once and for all that people in the states don't get music at all. This band deserves way more than that. What a drag. It didn't seem to matter to them, they put on one hell of a show and were having a great time. Kudos to Planet X that night for being musicians and loving it. Isn't that what it's all about?

(...)

Well, yeah, it was back in 2000. Hopefully things have improved for Planet X since then (although somehow I doubt it). I'm quite certain many fusion bands get less than 20 people per show. Free jazz bands are said to get less than 10.

Well... Its 2006 and still no sigh of a album... 4 years... Mr Sherinian has been having some fun with his solo stuff... Guess Planet X will fade away...

Moonbabies was so damn awesome...

Sherinian is said to be a tough guy to work with. Since Tony MacAlpine's departure from the band, there have been three (!) other guitarists replacing him - Brett Garsed, T. J. Helmerich and now Allan Holdsworth (!!!!) I do hope they click this time - I'd really love to hear Holdsworth play with Sherinian and Donati. If nothing else, it'd be VERY different from MacAlpine's playing (which I love, BTW)

off-topic:
dostałem dzi¶ od ¶w. Mikołaja 2 płyty:
Jethro Tull "A Little Light Music" (fajna)
i
Marillion "Script for a Jester's Tear"

Sorry Pablo, I don't really like Fish (Hogarth rulez, though)

And just to lighten up the beginning of the new year - the lyrics to the DT classic "Charred", posted by user named Shredi Knight at the John Petrucci forum:

Here's the story of when John Petrucci got "himself" caught in the toaster.
The immortal classic:

"Charred"

To rise,To fall
To burn,To toast
To itch,To scratch
To regret,Too late
Can't feel it
Should I peel it
Now you won't come near it
Non-erected
Unprotected
So blackened
This thing of mine

I never cooked my member before
Always protected was my dong
Now the ashes are crumbling
And now it's not that long
Can't let you see it again
You're extra-crispy jokes are not welcome here
Won't let you maim me with amputation remedies

What if the rest of my manhood
Was hopelessly numb from the sear
Where would your faithfulness live
Suddenly you no longer care.

Doctor....Heal me
Toaster....Changed me
Believe my wife is going to leave me
Scrotum....Flaring
Please....Stop staring
Touch it if you dare

Give up on recovery
Turn my back on ointment
Leave my foreskin behind
Use a cucumber for replacement

May the words of this song warm your hearts during the New Year

Hate parties. Unless they're for 10-20 people.

Sorry to hear you're feeling bad. Try to do something interesting now, read something, listen to some music etc. And don't drink too much at the party, or you'll feel even worse tomorrow morning. Blah, I hate Sundays, I always have a hangover on a Sunday morning, even though I don't drink.

Well.. that gonna be a party with less than 10 people!!!

1st plan was to get unconsciously drunk, but then I thought that I'm actually going there to have some fun... So there will be drinking, but just enough to make me happy!

Mind You, playing some fight games like Tekken or Soul Callibur under the noticeable influence of alcohol is always damn funny!
