“When I eventually got sobered up, which was three years later, I listened to Heaven and Hell, and, to this day, I cannot remember doing some of the songs. I can’t remember what studio it was. I can’t remember playing it at all. I have no memory.” —Bill Ward

There is a reason that Sabbath music is referred to as stoner rock.

How are you? | Believe it or not, I am reading your review of my first album.
I am sitting here with my keyboards on, a strange riff already recorded, and wondering what I can do with it.
Hopefully I can find some criticisms to push me along!

Starship Pooper!
Oh, she's wonderful....a "Far Cry" from my son, who was crazy as a bat as a child. She is beautiful and cross-eyed. Gosh, she's beautiful!
Everyone is asleep tonight and I am savoring the last hour of Christmas Day. And having some beer.
And trying to record...I don't know how it will turn out though!

Very much so. Only listened to it 2 times, but very very good stuff. First album from Zappa, but definitely won't be the last.
Going into it, I didn't realise it would all be instrumental, but its still good. Only thing I don't understand is why everyone thinks Peaches En Regalia is amazing, I think it's the weakest track.
@Rob: is the stuff you're recording for Refulgence?
Also, Henry, work your magic and make a hilarious new year's related title for the SR!

It's a good song, but not my favorite from that album. I need more Zappa.

What did you think of The Gumbo Variations?

Starting on the Miles boxset now with 'Round About Midnight. And I will try to listen to every album on here without switching to a different artist until I've made it through everything. Although I doubt that's going to last. Edit: Apparently, the first album in the set is some live concert with Miles and Tadd Dameron's Quintet in Paris in 1949. And I'm honestly not sure if that's a Miles album or a Tadd Dameron album.

I seem to like musicians who once worked with Zappa more than Zappa himself.

Just think how great of shape you could be in if you jazzercise to the whole boxset.

| What I'm doing tonight? Yeah...I think it will belong there.
I've been working on an EP for about a month now though. Something free people can download when it gets done. Something fun for me, really.
Refulgence is turning into a beast though. I have, two tracks and that's it. But I've also been insanely busy keeping us from going to debtor's prison!
Still, some recent conversations with a few folks around here has ignited a flame under my ass to get back to what I really love doing, and that's making music.
I am, however, extremely excited with what's coming.
Say Joel, want a preview?
