Pffft...because he's beneficial to you Rob...
Nah, Peyton is doing as we would expect, assuming he was healthy. Also, we knew Denver had a solid D, run game and some decent wideouts. Great achievement but what AP is doing is insane. He's also more important. The Broncos managed some success with Tebow. Without AP, Vikes are probably 0-1 winsLOL

Stillers/Ravens game has been pretty good, more or less what we expect. Looks like both has upped their game but Pittsburgh...well Charlie BatchLOL  Ed Reed is held together by band aids and still is a beast.
Edit: Wow, tight game. I wanna point out the irony, mainly to MoM, that the Stillers were the lesser team in this game, but thanks to their weak opponent, and doing just enough...they eeked a win. How's it feel to be what you complain about? Wink

Phew.  Would have been another bad give away to not have won that one considering how easily Batch was slicing Baltimore's secondary.  Thought Sanders' blunder was this game's "Baltimore's luck" play but thankfully  things worked out in the end and team that played better won.

The Steelers were the lesser team in this game according to Mr. JJLehto but they rose to the occasion and also put Mr. Suggs in the locker room. Loved those cheap roughing the passer penalties on the parakeets.....trying to bury an old man like Charlie Batch.

How about the refs whistling a play dead when Flacco wasn't down or sacked yet,and giving Foote a sack when all he did was grab an ankle.Flacco even got the ball off to Leach.Bullsh*t call,Flacco is a tough QB and doesn't need "Brady ref protection".

That's your opinion.

I think there is a potentially great QB in him.

NFL records

  • First rookie quarterback to start all sixteen games and make the playoffs (shared with Matt Ryan)
  • First rookie quarterback to win two playoff games
  • Most starts by a quarterback in first season: 19
  • Most starts by a quarterback in first two seasons: 37
  • Most starts by a quarterback in first three seasons: 55
  • Most starts by a quarterback in first four seasons: 73
  • Most wins by a quarterback in first 60 consecutive starts: 40
  • Most combined regular and postseason wins in first three years as a quarterback: 36 (tied with Dan Marino)
  • First quarterback to start and win a playoff game in each of his first four seasons
  • Most regular season wins by a quarterback in his first four seasons: 44

Not bad for such a SUCKY QB.And we'll advance to the playoffs again for the 5th straight year, how many QB's made it to the playoffs in their first 5 seasons?

Key word there being potential. Baltimore is one of only two teams in the NFL to have a marching band.

They absolutely were the lesser team, and you are absolutely right. I agree 100% with that you say.
Buuuuuut I just had to point it out for Mr MoM. Since as we know he treats the NFL like the BCS. LOL
Talks about every reason (and gives every excuse) over accepting the final W or L.
Edit : I take that back slightly. He accepts the W when it goes for Pitt. When its an L THEN every "this and that" gets thrown. Coincidence I'm sure.

To be fair...you guys have Mr Harrison who tries to paralyze any player he meets (and doesn't deny it) so you really have no right to be mad at a few cheap shots.

Cmon Eagles! Beat the Cowboys, make us all happy, and give the G men an easier road to the playoffs. It should be a fun game between the woeful Eagles and the under achieving Cowboys.

Oh and every game has sh*t calls on both sides, rarely does it truly impact the overall game.
And sorry...Flacco great? IDK about that man. Good sure, and as for the playoffs. Cmon dude the AFC is weak as hell right now. Hell, the Jets are still in the playoff picture technically.

Any of you wanna start a podcast? We know more about football really than most big wigs on TV and we're more profane/fun

Yeah, but Peyton missed an entire season and has come back in MVP form.  Not to say that AP hasn't, but QB is a much tougher position to come back to form in than RB.  AP has been incredible; Peyton has been legendary.  Also, the Broncos are winning convincingly (whereas the Vikes aren't really winning), and a lot of the credit could be placed on Peyton's shoulders.

ause of Peyton.  And another heartbreaking defeat for the Lions.  I want heads to roll on that defensive coaching side.  Awful, awful last 2-3 minutes.

Running backs are killed by injury. An ACL pretty much destroys a RB. The Vikings are atrocious. They don't have a qb or a wr. AP is their only weapon. He's much more impressive. Denver has a good defense, a good running game, and two very solid receivers.

How dare someone who's team got an entire drive because of a terrible terrible defensive holding call complain about the refs.  The pass interference was pretty awful too.

I have no idea where the hell your head is when you say such bullsh*t about Harrison, JJ.  Seems like you may not understand how football was played for the last 90 years or so and the realities of a game played at that speed that football is.  You've been woefully ignorant on this subject.

Also, Flacco has a strong arm and can complete a dump pass to the running back awesome and all but he's an average QB.  Progtologists stats are meaningless.  I'm pretty sure Mark Sanchez went to the AFC Championship game his first two seasons as starting QB and staying upright (all the most starts stats) is nothing but a good offensive line and luck (not as though he's played hurt like Favre used to).  From what I've seen he has trouble throwing over the middle and while he can throw deep he does so with punt-elevation passes that allow capable DBs (unlike william gay) the chance to adjust if they haven't gotten completely lost (like the ravens did all second half of todays game).  Without Ray Rice and the fullback (name eludes me at the moment) he really would be pretty lost out there.

The Steelers were the better team on the field today as the Chargers were the better team on the field against Baltimore last week, and the Cowboys several weeks ago.  This time around the better team was able to overcome the Baltimore's-luck plays that always seem to spring up.  I still have no idea how a WR with nobody around him and a clear path to the endzone and a 6 point lead just throws the ball out of his hands but I do know that Reed will always be there, ten yards off the play, to scoop it up.

Time always wins.

Again, comparing an RB's return as opposed to a QB's return is hard because they're two very different positions.  But, any time a QB is gone for a whole year, his competitive career is over.  Apparently not the case for Peyton, who looks like he never missed a beat.  To play QB the way he has this year is much more impressive because his position is much more demanding, at least mentally.  That's not a knock on AP, it's just a fact.  To be gone a whole year, you lose that speed to process decisions and execute effectively, and he hasn't lost it.  Yeah, he has a better team around him than AP does, but that doesn't mean he's a better player than Peyton.

Yes yes, all you ever retort is the "I miss the olden days" just worded differently. Its 2012, like it or not this is how it is.
The real shame is when healthy Harrison is one of the best outside linebackers in the whole NFL, regardless of scheme. Great pass rusher who also covers. Tackles, is a complete LB who can pass rush. He doesn't even need dirty play, that's just laziness/an outdated mentality.
And see there you go. Like I said, whenever the Steelers are not involved you act like this is the BCS. The W is the W man. Some are ugly and that's why we have playoffs. The best rise to the top. Though you disregard playoffs too. Why not just have the fans/writers/computers decide the SB so the Cowboys and Steelers can play every year?

Precisely, AP's year is near miraculous honestly. The Bronco's had 8 wins with the worst starting QB seen since the 1940sLOL they are just doing what we'd expect with a healthy Peyton. If they've done worse than this it'd be a failure.

And yikes, this Brown on the Eagles looks even better than McCoy! He is running like a man possessed. If this Foles show promise, I'd say dump Vick, focus on the 2 backs and rebuild a nasty team. Of course I'd hate thatLOL

What a final 2 minutes in the Dallas vs Eagles

The 98 yards run by Damaris Johnson was not enough

If Brown can learn to hold on to the ball, watch out.  Loved his explosiveness last night.  Foles looked pretty damn good too, especially considering the patchwork O-line and no Shady or Jackson.

I seem to remember Brady coming back from a year long injury and going to 2 Superbowls. I seem to remember McNabb coming back from a year long injury and going to a NFC championship game.

I  always hate that passing interference rule where they put the ball at the point of infraction, i think it's became too easy too throw the ball near your offensive player and the defender hoping that one interfere with the other by a touch of a finger. I know that the Steelers have not always played by the rules, but come on, the game is suffering by a excess of penalties. If the Steelers didn'tt gave up the ball so often by turnovers and drop balls (Mr. Wallace...), the Ravens would have lost all the games against the Steelers.

Did they do it at Manning's age?  No.  His career should've been over.
