Definitely an album LIGHT YEARS ( no pun intended) ahead of it's time, a masterpiece for sure

Yep, a real classic (as is Remain In Light; love that album).

Anyway, moving onto Liszt's piano concertos.

Genuinely terrible - I honestly haven't heard something this bad that calls itself prog

I reccomend instead of using 20$AUD for this album, you buy a stapler and around 4000 stapled and staple your face violently - It would be a helluva lot more fun than listening to this.

I hope you don't judge the Mars Volta purely on that album.

Get De-Loused in the Comatorium instead.

This one was my first experience with TMV. Needless to say, I started off with the wrong album. Maybe that's why I had trouble getting into them entirely. I liked some tracks off Bedlam though, and nothing more.

Meanwhile:

On Spotify mind you.  Not sure I can afford to buy it - although it is good.  Better than recorded versions in many cases.IMO>Wink

After a virtuoso of accordion (recommended to fans of Pat Metheny) :

and a virtuoso of banjo with a bunch of guys into bluegrass :

Hold to a Dream

followed by a virtuoso of violin in a symphonic prog mood melted with AOR :

then the pioneers of heavy metal :

to finish on one of the best metal albums of the year so far :

"Magma was the very first gothic rock band" (Didier Lockwood)
