hah.....   poor Raff was regulated to bystander yesterday as I watched not one.. but two of the most riveting and exciting games I've remembered in some time.  The Caps-Flyers on the TV...  and the Tigers-Twins on the live feed on the computer.

what an evening of sports bliss... shame to come out the loser on both ends.. but for the sports fans. It was heaven.

so wonder what the early odds are on Ovie smashing The Great One's single season scoring record.

Cardinal Nation is in a state of shock over Carpenter giving up 4 runs in 5 innings. Did they honestly think that he could be perfect each time out?

Rockies tied the series!!!!!

What a game, 5 - 4 for Colorado. Street did the job with a bit of luck, he had men in first and second.

But the hero was Yorvit Torrealba with his 2 men HR-

Coors Field is waiting The Phillies.

you've got a good horse there Ivan...  i didn't even know this and heard it on sport radio here ...but over the last four months... the Rockies.. not the Dodgers.. not the Cards.. not the Phils have the best record in the NL (actually by a rather large margin)  That isn't a hot streak like a couple of years ago.. that is World Series team there...

Yes Micky, also read the statistics in the MLB page, the Rockies were 18 -29 in May 27.(.409),

Hurdle was replaced the next game for Jim Tracy who won 20 of the following 25 games and rise to 37 - 34 (.521)

The season ended with  92 - 70 (.568) but the average since the All Star game is an amazing 45 - 29 (.608)

I don't know if they will reach the World Series, but they will fight it..

They got a young team for some years.

Argh!  Thought we could mount a comeback.  Hamels just didn't have enough today - but he's got more important matters to attend to:  left the park after he got yanked to be with his wife, who is in labor.

See you in Denver Ivan.  Tongue

Damn ESPN, not showing the Colorado - Phillies games this weekend.

I don't care about 2010 World Cup games, Peru is out already, they should pass all the playoffs.

Cardinal Nation is sad this morning. I can honestly say that the Cards were never in the last game.

After the years of being "good" then dying painfully in the playoffs the Yankees are moving on!!
I've been telling my friends/yankee haters they have a good team for once this year.

Go Yanks

Phillies are a much better team I don't understand how this series isn't over. Lee will end it tomorrow though.

I hope so.  It'd be nice if we could have Hamels/Lee for the first two out in LA.

If by Hamels and Lee you mean Hamels minus his curveball and Lee then yes that would be very nice.

Didn't seem to help the Cards having Carpenter and Wainwright! We will see. Far different Dodger team and a far different Phils team then the ones that met last year about this time. First things first get by Colorado.

For what is worth the Dodger and Angels had very eerily similar results in their series with foes that have been a pain in the rear. Swept them without much resistance.  Seems like two team on a mission. This Yankee Angel series could be one for the books.

Great game, very close, the problem is that Street couldn't close the 9th inning when Colorado was two tuns ahead with two outs.

The team needs a new closer.
