I remember hearing about that band a long time ago but I had forgotten about them. I think they're too repetitive for me, and it's also quite out of print.

It's not good or bad - it's human nature. I always thought that if a person is a cool, self-contained, rational guy, he/she can never become racist, chauvinist, criminal, etc. Apparently, nasty reactions come via emotional response to powerful stimulus. And that would explain all those horrible episodes of recent history.

Which one was that?

Michael Manring.  Not quite a good fit the more I think about it, but he's an incredibly innovative bassist and has played in several bands on the site.

I always thought that if a person is a cool, self-contained, rational guy, he/she can never become racist, chauvinist, criminal, etc. Apparently, nasty reactions come via emotional response to powerful stimulus. And that would explain all those horrible episodes of recent history.

Nah - I was in a situation when I could feel those nasty responses coming out of the subconscious independently of my will. They'd never take over my conscious reason, but I was surprised to even see them crawling up to the light. They are there!
