I gave "Playing The Fool" a point because it is the best live-album I have ever heard.

The Power and the Glory - 10
Gentle Giant - 10 (It is a nice first album; it has it's flaws, but I can overlook that, because of the "debut" status)
Three Friends - 9 (I just get bored with that "working all day" tune, wich is pretty monotonous and kind of thick).
Acquiring the taste - 7 (last 2 songs are awfull and destroy an incredible album)
In a glass house - 6 (falls apart on last 3 tracks, too repetitive; 3 first tracks are amazing).
Freehand - 6 (A little flat)
Octopus - 6 (much more flatened; but with much more recognizible highlights).

As for the rest of the albums, they are useless, featuring 1 or 2 nice tracks, but lost in a bunch of mediocre songs. In fact, I would pretty much like to take selected songs from Freehand, In a glass house, The missing piece and 1 track from interview, to make a good album out of them.

Gentle Giant: An awesome, emotional masterpiece.
Aquiring The Taste: A very good, bleak and dreamy CD.
Three Friends: Also a good album, but a continous mood is missing.
Octopus: Great CD; it is the most medieval-sounding album Gentle Giant ever produced.
In A Glass House: Great album with a special mood that is hardly to describe; by the way I don't think it is the band's best work...
The Power And The Glory: A technically unbelievable well played masterpiece.
Free Hand: The Gentle Giant album; each track sweeps you off your feet.
In'terview: Also a masterpiece and better than for example "Three Friends" or "Octopus" in my opinion; "Design" is my favourite Gentle Giant song; I think this is a very, very underrated CD.
Playing The Fool: Surely the best live-album I have ever heard. The band absolutely convinces live, no doubt.
The Missing Piece: This album is good either, though the tracks are shorter and not that complex it still has standard.
Giant For A Day: The least good Gentle Giant album, the only song I really like is "Spooky Boogie". With the exception of that song it is no more Gentle Giant.
Civilian: It is not the typical Gentle Giant-sound anymore, but it is as good as "The Missing Piece". I don't know why they broke up after that CD, it became better again (though it didn't become as good as in the early 70's, without a question)...
