nice choice, but nothing unusual, it's their best work by far. Thumbs Up
Without a doubt, but not frequently talked about when talking prog.

oh, I thought you meant it's not the usual Extreme favorite, which would be for some people Pornograffitti?! Ermm

Yes indeed. To be honest I really like Pornograffitti but it's on another wave. Three Sides is much more proggy and better imho Thumbs Up

I've grown to dislike this, the only listenable song on this is Paschendale.

Not a patch on BNW, is it?

I've just done my MS thing... BNW 8.7 / 10.  DoD 7.9

Brave New World has its flaws, a couple of songs are repetitive, but I still enjoy it.

Later day Maiden is rather hit and miss with me. The albums are uneven, some songs drag on for too long, the long songs have mostly the same pattern - an intro-verse-chorus-verse chorus- long solos- chorus-outro. It gets tedious after a while.

I agree, and DoD and AMoLaD both certainly fit into that category for me; there's only so many listens you can give them before you get jaded. BNW was certainly a bit fresher when it came out, but I don't listen to any of them any more...

Threshold - Subsurface is my favorite, too. I wonder which of their albums is the usual favorite. Confused
Afraid of Sunlight is when I decided to quit with Marillion. I have rediscovered them with F.E.A.R. many years later.
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

I managed to stick with them until Radiation... my, what a lacklustre, mediocre affair that was!

Yes, it's difficult with Threshold, because their discography is so very even in quality, isn't it? I know Hypothetical always got a lot of love back in the day, when I always slightly preferred Clone..
