First three Yes album covers and also 90125 and Big Generator. YMMV.

I just feel very inadequate looking at that.

I suppose the theme is 'oh sh*t punk is happening and we aren't going to get away with another Roger Dean cover'

I'm not keen on Birth Control's "Hoodoo Man" cover although it does fit the title track.

Hi,

Careful ... you might be told you don't listen!

(It's a close up on an ear under water ... a take on a line about not listening according to the Hipgnosis book! You can see it better on the English LP setting as it is clean ... the American version is badly reproduced and the cover is more difficult to figure out.)

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

I've been in the middle of a Gong marathon over the last two weeks, so there's this one. I think it could do with a better background and the title in a different font.

I don't know, but he is a swashbuckler for sure

Just goes to show that our imaginations sometimes take over and lead us to either like something or not. It's hardly the worst album cover out there. An album like Close To The Edge deserves a better album cover for instance. In fact it would look much better with the Kansas album cover for Point Of Know Return!

Oh My God!! That dreadful Gong album cover has to be the worst album cover ever! Pinch

I just hope the godawful Gong album cover was Saved by the Music. Smile

I think "Tormato" cover was a disaster  (being a good album musicaly) barely saved by Rick throwing a tomato at it, making sort of conceptual art self-joke out of it.

Other one that makes me cringe:
It's a reissue, but still. The original cover at the size of post stamp complete with arctic landscape, fancy 80s car, Star Wars' stormtrooper,  the Moon and Michelangelo's David above it all Ouch

The final Flash studio LP, "Out of our Hands," would easily qualify.

I actually think this album cover is great, but I know a lot of folks don't agree.

The Final Cut - Roger Waters thought he could take total artistic control over the band, even down to designing the cover. [Not to mention putting his own name above 'Pink Floyd'.] Whilst I love the album, aesthetically it more resembled a GCSE art project rather than being up to the standard of some of the Hipgnosis designed sleeves, e.g. DSotM, WYWH, Ummagumma, Animals etc.
