Not hated by me, but I do am very curious why exactly mason.
He didn't do much on composing, didn't drum very notably fast/virtuous and not too special to me.
Wait, that's not a valid argument: drumming fast with PF. That's nearly impossible

Well, he did some pretty good drum work on Piper and live he put a bit more oomph. Listen to the Meddle version of "Echoes" and the one from Live At Pompeii, for an example.

John French is good; he's in my Top Ten American Classic Rock drummers. I also like Guy Evans.
He looks at this world and wants it all... so he strikes, like Thunderball!

The two guys with more votes (Liebezeit and Moerlen) are the ones who deserve it most, and arguably two of the most skilled drummers ever, but Wilson is SO underrated...

The right guys are in the lead. Ward is brilliant, Moerlen was probably the best in the world and Jaki is extraterrestial and magic. He'll probably make my computer break down from the distance if I don't vote for him.

Pierre 'Percolations' Moerlen
I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

Jake's the obvious choice for me, but nice to see Billy Ficca here. Television is a fantastic band due in part to his fantastic drumming.

He didn't do many flashy things, but always held a solid groove.

Not on the list, not even Prog really, but Sheila E can drum up a storm.
