well fellas. Got the Marillion "Clutching At Straws" Boxset in the mail today .
A lovely early Christmas present to myself . It is really amazing . A great buy. 4 cds and a blu ray, so I really got a nice amount to go through . Got about half way .today.

Marillion--- Clutching At Straws. ( Original 1987 mix.)
Marillion-- Clutching At Straws ( 2018 remix )
Marillion-- Clutching At Straws ( 5.1 surround sound mix in LPCM)

Blu ray...a live video from that tour?

I saw the Clutching at Straws  tour and I recall Fish was in a very foul mood. Some friends and I were nicely lit up for that show and expecting big things. The band did a super job and I'll leave it at that.  LOL   But that is a great album, so you picked a nice christmas gift there!

I saw the Misplaced Childhood tour as well, on that one they opened for Rush.

I saw them sometime after Clutching at Straws, and was surprised to discover Fish wasn’t the singer anymore. Still a good show though.

That is rather funny .LOL
Thank you for that . Made me laugh.
Gimmie my headphones now!!! 🎧🤣

I actually enjoyed the Marillion's material more than much of Rush's PW setlist.

Rush . Canada's best . They make me feel proud to be canadian.
Amazing that they can even overshadow a stunning fish era band like Marillion .
Confused
Mind blowing .

today . Did not get much done in the listening department. Enjoyable non the less!

Marillion-- Live At the Edenburg Play house (1988) ( disc 1 of 2) -- great performance. So so audio quality . And JIM the blu ray disc in the box set is just mainly pure audio content with one 60 minute interview with the band .)

Fields of the nephilim-- Live at the BBC (1988)  I want to be buried with this disc. Some of the best, most captivating live music I have ever heard. A shame it is only 30min long. Damn radio slot times! Lol)

Gimmie my headphones now!!! 🎧🤣

Got rid of them all except Star Wars trilogy, just for fun since we no longer own a player.

it’s right up there in the “I didn’t get the memo” department, right behind the time I bought Calling All Stations and was shocked to hear a voice other than Phil Collins.

How is this Finch album?  I am only familiar with Galleons of Passion.

This past week:
Black Sabbath - Master of Reality
Foghat - Rock and Roll Outlaws
Nektar - Journey to the Centre of the Eye
Queen - Day at the Races
David Bowie - Blackstar (I waited to listen to this as I did not want to hear it after his death, so finally heard it and I really like it even though it does have a dark sound and tone to it)
Areatha Franklin - The Best of Areatha Franklin (what a fabulous voice, the songs just make you feel good)

Ok, at the risk of being beaten, flogged, and tossed out of PA into the pit of misery.  I just listened for the first time - The Who - Live at Leeds.
Absolute raw energy and the playing is marvelous.  Moon is just insane, Pete never sounded better, Ox's bass just growls, and Roger's voice is in top form.

Two of my faves there, Jim, with the Sabbath and the Who title.  I too love the aggression of it.

I never heard Galleons of Passion but I love this album, it has so much energy and emotion, despite being very technical... oh, and that warm 70's production Approve
How do you find Nektar's debut? It's been a while since I listened to it.

Since Saturday:
Pendragon - The World
Sergei Rachmaninov - Piano Concerto nº2,3
Sebastian Hardie - Four Moments
Happy The Man - s/t
Starcastle - s/t
Unaka Prong - Salinity Now!

Ryo Fukui - Scenery

Anything Finch released is very good (IMO), Galleons of Passion is their third album. Give the other two a chance because they are definitely worth it. Heart

^ GoP is their third? I heard it then, but not the debut. So yes, I think Beyond Expression is better.
