I have found the cure for that over the last 2 days - Non-Prog It works! Refreshes the mind and then you can listen to even the thickest, juiciest prog ever afterwards without mindf**kery.
I don't listen to that many genres, but that's usually what I do when I can find anything I'm interested in. Change style.
Trying 1930.

Mike, my sister likes Daft Punk and what I heard of them, I didn't mind, so it's all cool.

Oh good, because they've been on non-stop for the last couple of days. Well, between Meshuggah, Gojira and Gentle Giant, of course. Oh, and 80s Rush

If Daft Punk didn't have annoying vocals, I'd probably like them... oh well. :P

So listen to Aerodynamic, Crescendolls, Voyager, Verdis Quo, Short Circut, most of their first album... lots of the tracks are instrumentals.

Yeah, I'm sure I'd prefer most of their stuff over the hits.

What genre is Daft Punk?
(Punk to some extent, I suppose, but specifically?)

No, they're the world's biggest selling electronica/dance act. A girlfriend of mine got me hooked on them back in Grade 9, but I never admitted it until recently

I never liked admitting to my sister I actually enjoyed listening to them, because come on, can you really picture me listening to Daft Punk?
But my confession is here, and I like some of their music

Dance music, eh?
Then I don't particularly want to give them a shot. Maybe I have already and didn't like it.
