OK, I've had a listen, and can see he's been listening to stuff like Kluster, Neu! 2 and the first Tangerine Dream album. I don't mind noise, and have Throbbing Gristle's CD1 and Heathen Earth in my collection, but am not keen on plumbing the depths of sexual perversion, murder and insanity, I look to music to escape from all that. So here's a couple of good healthy tracks from 1968Smile

^Yummy!

Regarding Nico and her old team mates The Velvet Underground - I still think they had a lot to do with the Krautrock scene happening, and to some extent I´d consider Sister Ray a forerunner to the style. The same goes for a lot of psych outfits from both the states and England.
Especially this one by the Floyd:

Loved the Drum Circus album mentioned here some time ago. Smile
The drummer being a driving force there gives it an interesting characteristics, and I adored the peaceful hippie tranguility shimmering from their organic jazzy aural batik.

Thought to ask, are you familiar of Swedish bands Pärson Sound / International Harvest / Träd, Gräs och Stenar?
I think some of their material might appeal to adorers of early organic rockdronings, and if you know them, would be fun to hear some impressions, if not discussed here earlier.

Pärson Sound, I've listened to for the first time.
What a killa track indeed Clap ... I've checked their album in some CD webshop and found it be much expensive ... sadly. Ouch

^ Late Mr. Torbjörn Abelli played bass in all of these three groups, and he was honored in the latest My Brother The Wind album also. I do not remember are there other same members, somehow have a feeling the groups are kind of different evolvement steps of the same bunch, sharing similar spirit to the music.

I got 3LP box of Pärson Sound by Subliminal Sounds with a price I could survive due discount vouchers to a local record shop.
Though all of these bands have done really great stuff, I believe that box holds 100% greatest hynotic power in it, as the other incarnations have done also some tracks sounding more incoherent to my ears - should try to find focus to review it. Smile

I know International Harvester(John recently did a terrific review of this record)and Träd, Gräs och Stenar, which both dabble in Krautrock - just as Älgarnas Trädgård do.
Maybe I´m slightly bonkers, but to my ears there was indeed a small circle of psych bands from Sweden around that time, who if located in Germany would have fit the Krautrock mould like a glove. Kebnekaise also touched upon these musical ideas on their second album.

A couple of albums i've been enjoying tonight were DARXTAR's debut which sounds a lot like HAWKWIND at times but overall some cool psychedelics here. Also HAIKARA's debut which might be the best album that i've ever heard out of Finland. The first track is a little too folky for my taste but after that it's beyond brilliant.

I agree with the awesomeness of Haikara's debut record.
As a Finnish listener I can accept the first track fits to the album comcept, as the lyrics and the popular music style in my opinion draw a portrait of a common man, who then faces the four musically more advanced pictures of his world, mostly dystopic.
I tried to get into their second album very long time ago, but it sounded bit uncoherent, there was f.ex presence of some female singing being constantly out of tune on most of the tracks (well, maybe it could fit to the continental European undergroung psych characteristics).
That second album is reissued as vinyl, and of the first album there was a 500 copy (if I recall correctly) LP reprints done by some European company, these quickly sold out. CD version should be available more better.
The later recordings from this group didn't sound so appealing to my ears.

From Finnish psych underground outside the Love records portfolio, have you heard Nimbus ("Obus" being their sole release). Quite symphatetic pessimistic stoner prog?
Not so much trance-focused minimal hypnoticism, but quite personal effort in my opinion.

About bands David mentioned, I have tried to search Älgarnas Trägård's first record for long, but have not yet found it.
Kebnekaise's discography is well present in the local libraries, and I think I should dive into them more deeply.
If there is a good record for the start of getting into them in your mind, please recommend.

Also the rustic shamanism of Siloah sounds very wonderful on basis of the video shared here, thank you for sharing it Keishiro.

Have a nice day you all! Party

Hey Eetu!

You really can´t go wrong with the first 3 Kebnekaise records, but I would suggest you start with either ll or lll, as the first one mainly focuses on a more 60s sounding folky sound. I really like it, but I´m glad I started out with their second album - but that´s because I´m more into the kraut psych flavour.
The following albums Ljus från Afrika and Elefanten are experiments with African music and altogether different in attitude and temper. Pretty weird listening to their first ones and then putting on ElefantenWacko

how about some Canterbury Kraut? hahaha

gotta check out the mighty This Heat. They had their roots in the prog-Canterbury scene before meeting a 'non-musician' and creating their singular sound (with influence from Faust/Can) in the post punk era. What a coming together.......as heard on their s/t album (the blue n yellow one) and Deceit.

ahem ahem and Tortoise's Millions Now Living Will Never Die is a wonder of modern kraut/prog. Listen to the 23 min opus Djed and tell me you cannot hear Kraftwerk's Autobahn and Neu! in there......

Thank you David for this description! Smile Will search the first three, as I also like lesser experimental 60's folk music.

I need to go back and listen to TORTOISE. I bought them because of the Krautrock connection people said they had in their music and while i heard that i just couldn't get into it at the time. It's been years so time for a re-visit.

Of the early post rock you can also add .O.rang, Disco Inferno and Ganger to that list... Plus there was Glenn Branca, who was the connection between Kraut and GY!BE.
