Sagi, your pro-Zeuhl agenda has been quite clear for some time now!

Tell me, have you heard the Zeuhl stunner `Strave - Visions'?!

I bought the recent reissue from Greg Walker a couple of months ago, and it's really impressed me! I hope some other Zeuhl fiends have enjoyed it too!

I had a break from Zehul for a few years, and now I've got the bug again and seems I can't shake it off.  Cool

Never heard of Strave. Can I have some details? What's the music like?

OK, first of all, here's the album, but no review yet...I'm going to put one together over the next few days, though! The music is very much in the vein of Magma, on the clip I've provided you'll pick up on that. The album is mostly instrumental, though, and the vocals when they appear are essentially chant like, repeated over and over.

Strave - Vision

and here's a Youtube clip of the first track:

See what you think!

That was fabulous my friend!! It really was. I can hear hints not only from Magma but from a lot of other Zehul projects.
Great stuff really, be sure I'm gonna dig into that one.

But with the link you provided I can see it's a solo album from Serge Bringolf. His first album is Strave and the second is Vision. I thought differently by what you said.

Sagi, I went and grabbed my CD - this just adds to the confusion!

The front cover says `Serge Bringolf - Vision - Strave', while the spine of the CD says just `Strave - Vision'.

So I guess it's easiest just to consider it `Serge Bringolf's Strave' lol!

It seems to be a group of musicians he brought together to play on the album, while Serge himself on drums/percussion and lead vocals is always front-and-center.

Keep a look out for the album, there's not a bad spot on it, and it definately compliments the early jazzier Magma albums as well as numerous other 70's Zeuhl albums, just as you noted.

This is semi-related to this, but I made sure that the last song of 2012 I heard was Echoes. Started listening at 11:36 and finished around 12am. That song changes my life every time I hear it, and the last 5 minutes of the song were more astonishing than ever...
I consider drone metal to be progressive...

I listened to "Shazam" by The Move and "Clear Spot" by Captain Beefheart on vinyl yesterday evening. Great music to close off the year with.

Haven't heard Echoes in a while. My Meddle needs a spin...Sax man

Started the day off with some Camel ("Ice") and then moved on to Yes' Relayer and The Yes Album.  Later, I went with Genesis' Foxtrot.  Not a bad day at all.
