She's an incredibly talented pop singer/songwriter/musician. I'd put her in the same league as Michael Jackson, Prince, and Madonna.
But as far as her being a contribution to prog? Nope, her music is straight pop.
Her next album is supposed to be 'more experimental', so maybe we'll see....I have it preordered already. I'm not ashamed to admit that I like her music, she makes good pop music, and she can actually perform live (so she's not a manufactured artist, like some others in the popular music category.)

Haven't heard her, just seen her, on news sites, because that is hard to avoid. Really, I have no idea what Lady Gaga sounds like, and I am proud of it...well, I have heard Cartman's Poker Face on Southpark, that is supposed to be a Gaga tune...
Proud to live under a rock regarding this...

Wait until she had made enough cash to record something under her real name, without any make-up or goofy dress... In 2012, she will issue a triple album, collecting all of her piano songs combined into a 3 hour symphony and she will blow up our minds, blow up our bodies, blow up our lives...
I warn you.

When you first hear Lady Gaga, you think "Am this music? What are the doing?" Then if you are marry, then your wife say this am terrible music. Then, you see something in one song you do kind of like. Then you realize she am masterpiece, and your wife does to. So, Lady Gaga is obviously five stars.

She really is smart, Lady, she knows how to sell. Her songs, albums are "manufactured" to be loved by the grand masses, and she lures the underground crowd with her dressing style and extravagance.
I wouldn't say she's a bad artist, she's a good pianist, I'm sure of that. She just uses her talents and competences for other purposes than to make music (note that I'm not saying she doesn't make music, I'm saying her aim is not making music, but making money).
