getting a last.fm account is another good way to get music suggestions and - perhaps more importantly - find out about awesome concerts near you

You should probably try RPWL also.  They were a Pink Floyd cover band for a number of years before they started releasing material of their own.  The Pink Floyd influence is pretty obvious on some of their music.
