But usually mainstream-ish bands are the ones that get the most awards. And how about : Progasaurus Would You Like Prog With That? Dude, Wheres My Prog? The Progfather Progahontas

I'm not that crazy about the word Prog as the name the kind of music we like is saddled with, but I'll go along with it. Leave it out of the band name, though - please!

I'm surprised Peter Gabriel hasn't done that.

Gonna have to go with the majority on this one. PROGAHEAD is just too obvious. Try a song title from your favourite band or a line from your favourite novel. Something that arouses interest, suggests what your all about but doesn't slap your potential audience in the face. South Side of the Sky...or something.

It's the worst name in the history of Paganinio's terrible ideas, and everybody else's for that matter....
You might as well call it "Prog in the rear" and you could have better innuendo....

How about trying to be a little bit more subtle? Some suggestions:
Peel Raisins or Go (PRoG) Polite Rebels of Gormenghast (PRoG — for lovers of Mervyn Peake) Prune Ogives (PrOg — it would probably make a few people check their dictionaries, or, more likely these days, google, which leads us to:) Proud Googlers (ProG) Proust’s Ghost (ProG) ∏’s Rough Grip (∏RoG)
You can even turn it backwards:
Great Offer! Reduced Prices! (GO!RP!) Goons"R"Pretentious (Go"R"P)
And finally, to return to Peake:
Gormenghastly Peaks (GorP)

Biomechanoid cybersparrow.
Cheesy funeral.
The summit of Mixolyidia.
There are endless possibilities. In fact, there's only one good name with 'prog' in it:
Fuck prog.
