Don't get wrong I love ELP albums from their 1 to Works, however after works, ELP didn't (my personal Opinion)  manage to make good albums after that. their Studios albums were EXTREMELY BORING! with extremely lack of creativity that their early albums had. However Tangerine Dream made some fantastics albums ( tamgram, Exit, white Eagle The Virgins years) until the 80's and recently their creativity had come back. !

Dont like ELP, dont like Electronic music in general, so I wont vote.

I've just noticed that Kayo Dot are going to be paired up with Rush, that is so not fair!Cry

ELP is my relatively least favourite classic symponic prog band,(some great music, but quite inconsistent as a whole) but considering who is their opponent I vote for them without hesitation.

Over land and under ashes
In the sunlight, see - it flashes
Find a fly and eat his eye
But don't believe in me

I cast my vote for the band with the flying piano.

It's got to be the Tangs. ELP had their moments, but the Dream were consistently excellent up until Poland, barring the odd slip up like Cyclone. The Franke/Froese/Baumann line up was also brilliant on stage.

It's too hard to judge TD on a couple sample tracks, so no vote here. (I do intend to get some soon, though!)

Good grief, ELP winning a poll!?  I'm shocked but pleased. I often get the impression they'd struggle to beat Little Jimmy Osmond on here.Tongue

Hmm, I've heard a little Tangerine Dream here and there, and from what I've heard of them they've been more than a bit interesting. I've heard plenty of ELP, so I know what they sound like, and yes, they do occasionally get annoying.

Maybe I'll give TD a few more listens before I give a vote.

It's still early in the voting. Germany precincts tend to be slow with tabulating their results.
