Civilian.

KIDDING!!! KIDDING!!!!

Anyhoo.

I actually LOVE Civilian.... go figure. Giant for a Day is just SOOOOOO
dreadful. Shame they made it. Every other disc is defensible as far as I'm
concerned.

Then again.

As I have stated here before.

I am the ULTIMATE GIANT FREAK.

Much to the bitter dismay of Trouserpress.... Who has held up second
place nicely for many years now.

Bless his pointy head.

SM.

The Power And The Glory.

And then the rest.

Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive

Favorite would have to be Three Friends, Octopus, and In a Glass House.  I know those are three different albums, but I can't pick just one...

hard to choose, but my list would be:

1. Three Friends (my first GG album and favourite by them. Love the style and memorable melodies of that album, contains some of the most haunting arrangements of their whole catalogue)

2. Octopus (would call it the perfect GG album, a superbly produced and round classic record, but I prefer TF slightly. Overall maybe their very best as an album, which fits together like a well done puzzle, without any lacks IMO)

3. In A Glass House (more complex and experimental than their previous work, but their definitive landmark album for the prog rock genre)

4. Free Hand (showed off their renaissance-approach of the group in perfection)

5. The Power And The Glory (possibly their creative peak)

6. Acquiring The Taste (unique, uncomparable with any other GG record, a real step forward onto the next level)

7. Gentle Giant (their promising debut, but not representable for the typical GG sound, more bluesy and accessible than all their highly acclaimed forthcoming material, but definitely a classic and very overlooked. One of the classic debuts of early 70's, probably the most important behind "In The Court Of The Crimson King" and ELP's debut)

8. Interview (their final great album, strangewise oftenly overlooked after the brilliant "Free Hand" album, seems like forgotten in their classic period-catalogue from '70-'76)

"All you need to do is sit back, and acquire the taste." - GENTLE GIANT
