I love that U2 already has a couple of votes so I’ve added one more, while I think about what other songs of this ilk I’m INTO.

I'm guessing most people "space" and don't realize multiple is on, but its not obvious unless you read the question and/or original post closely.

It'd be nice if PA admin would do something to make the multiple more visible, and also make it possible to select everything you want in one shot, (like filling bubbles on a multiple choice test).

If you are concerned about people missing that it's multiple votes (I look at polls more as accessories to discussion and discovery), you could add that to the topic line.

Well, yeah, I look at most polls the same way, (and probably most others on PA, too).  "Winners" of polls are often quite predictable. I think, if anything, having multiple on helps with discussion & discovery.

You're probably right that putting "multiple" in the subject line might help--especially after realizing it may be the only thing many people read at the head of a poll: they don't seem to read the actual question (its kind of less-noticable in light blue) or the original post, even, like with mine, its in large text.  Still, with a better design, it shouldn't be necessary.

You'll have to repost that Deep Purple vid.

The Deep Purple link Jean posted works for me.

I see the message "Video Unavailable".  Maybe its only viewable outside the US/North America (?)

Glad to give Van Morrison a nod too !

There's also Into The Frying Pan by King Crimson, a rough but fascinating piece.

You're right, including multiple votes can be beneficial.   In a lot of my polls I have used multiple choice, which while I'm more more interested in what people write about the music than just how they vote, it can help spur some people on to not just automatically vote for that one track they already knew or the first one they notice, but explore others and compare various ones.... Put a little more thought into it, not that people should as we all have important things on our plates to deal with and important issues to consider.

I used to get annoyed (and sometimes it would rather amuse me to be honest in some cases) that people often don't read the opening post and the poll question. In my early days I played with those questions to see if people were paying attention, such as "Vote for your least favourite" or "Vote for your third favourite" etc. Some would get angry feeling tricked.

This site could be massively improved in various ways. That can be an expensive and onerous task, some technical improvements would be easier than others, but that comes down to the site owner ultimately. I don't know what features the newest and best versions of Web Wiz forums have, and migrating this to a new forum would be quite a big task. I'd quite like to see everything archived here and then start afresh. It's all quite out-of-date.

I like making and participating in polls, but part of me wishes we didn't have the feature at all as then I think forums are more likely to become less discussion based and more about list-making and simple one or a few word replies. Like many, I do like lists, and I have discovered a lot of good-for-me music thanks to polls. Balance in all things. Mostly, this forum should be a place to have a good time (virtual socialise a bit, crack jokes etc.) from my perspective, but also it's a great way to discover music, and just get one thinking and associating, as well as a break from our other responsibilities and stresses.

A non-prog choice, today. I really like Tom Petty's song.
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

Most of those don't start with "into" though.

It's between Into the Dream by Discipline, Into the Mystic by Motorpsycho, Into the Night by Beardfish, Into the Painted Grey by Agalloch
I use they/them pronouns (feel free to ask me about this!)

Check out my music on my bandcamp!
