So, it's a choice between Peter Gabriel & IQ, and this time I'll go with IQ because they're trailing behind and outnumbered in The Wake of Rush and Marillion.

This is a general reply to the forum users saying 'where it this band?', or 'where is this fantastic album?' - Don't forget that these are the albums voted by you in the previous stage of Random Album Clashes, where we tackled year by year the period between 1964 and 2020. So, if you supposed favorite band and/or album is missing, it's because it didn't win the RAC of the respective year, if it was included in the shortlists of 15 albums that were 'clashing' on every poll.

Oh I fully understand how we got here, it just amused me seeing the list, its a microcosm of 80's prog popularity. I've enjoyed these polls a lot, they've been great.

An oddity where I own all these albums on both vinyl and CD.
MP for me. The Camera Eye alone is a winner.

'So' is getting so many votes! Shocked
I thought 'progheads' are not very fond of this album.
But seeing MP in the lead is no surprise.

Permanent Waves (but isn't it a 70s album? Or is it?)

Despite my love of Rush and Marillion, I must agree with Nogbad that they're overrepresented here.

Talk Talk.
I use they/them pronouns (feel free to ask me about this!)

Check out my music on my bandcamp!

It doesn’t sound like any of their ‘70s albums. Hemispheres is definitely the last album that sounded like a ‘70s Rush album. I have no idea when Waves was recorded or released, but it sounds as ‘80s as Moving Pictures to me. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Mr. Gabriel, followed by Moving Pictures and Permanent Waves.
Welcome to the middle of the film.

It was released 1980. Actually, Spirit of Radio is the first song of the 1980s, as I believe it was released on January 1st, 1980.

Fairly easy vote for Talk Talk although I do love me some Fish lead Marillion from time to time.

IQ for me, but there are some fine albums on this list. The 80s truly was a great decade....

Just like Crimson and Porcupine Tree in the 2000s, Rush and Marillion are deciding the winner of the 80s between each other, but who is it going to be?
As it happens quite often, my favorite album of the poll is far from the win. LOL

This is quite a toss-up... Fugazi, but it could have been Moving Pictures or Clutching At Straws or Tales...
