Yeah Raff played one of their albums earlier this morning. First time listen... loved it. Really really forward to seeing them.  Definitely 3 for 3 so far!

TRYO performs at PROGDAY 2015!

"The best Chilean band of 2014" - ROCKAXIS (Chile’s premier rock publication)

With a musical history that spans nearly 30 years, TRYO is considered to be one of the most important artists in Chile, especially in progressive rock /metal, jazz fusion and vanguard music. The band’s distinctive sound comes from a fusion of rock, metal, jazz, Chilean and Latin American folklore, classical and world music.

Through the years the group has maintained its original line-up, releasing it’s first album in 1996.  Though the debut established TRYO as an electric ensemble, subsequent releases also highlighted it’s acoustic side, culminating in the excellent all-acoustic outing “Viajes” in 2005. Currently the band is working on two new albums of original material to be released this year.

TRYO (Chile) joins JACK O’ THE CLOCK (US), ECCENTRIC ORBIT (US) and UT GRET (US) at ProgDay, the longest running progressive rock festival in the world.  ProgDay 2015 will take place on Saturday, September 5th, and Sunday, September 6th, at Storybook Farm in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.  For more information, and to hear music from this year's bands, please visit us at www.progday.net.

Thanks!

Michael

Sounds great, even if I have to admit being unfamiliar with this one. Looking forward to a new discovery!

^ amen to that. and par for the course.. zero interest in checking out any samples. I want to hear them for the first time on stage.

Sounds really interesting...  one of the tastiest and more unappreciated ingrediants in great prog rock is the incorporation of folk music into the stew. Especially of the non English variety. Clap

we'll be there for sure.. to the consternation of my bosses.. who had to redo the entire on-call schedule for my office since I was to have my scheduled duty fall on that weekend.  They know I'd have been in N.C. (this will Raff and my 6th straight year we've gone) and telling customers who called in with emergencies that I'd see them TUESDAY LOL

HT??  brother.  Did you get that vacation approved... I'm looking forward to that Indian place again with you and Lee, as well as cruising about in that sweet convertible of yours.  Speaking of classic vehicles.. hopefully Dan Burke can make it this year.

a place in Durham HT found (he's vegetarian) off of 15-501 by the business 501 interchange (that big ass tower that dominates the drive in from the north as you come toward the hotel)
