As Kamelot continues to finish their upcoming CD, the special guests are finishing their parts on the record. Simone Simons from the symphonic metal band "Epica" recently recorded her vocal parts that will be featured on Kamelot's forthcoming CD. Simone joins Kamelot vocalist Khan on the band's newest ballad "House On A Hill" as well the title track of the band's new album. More special guests to be announced soon!

Kamelot will embark on a World Tour starting this March in Europe and will be debuting several new songs from the new CD. Release date to be announced...

SILENT CALL – Greed / release: 26.03.2010

Arising from the thriving music scene of Stockholm, Sweden, Silent Call trace their lineage all the way back to the year 1990, when founding members Daniel Ekholm and Patrik Ulfström (now Törnblom). Realizing their shared passion and strong melodic progressive influence, they began playing together in the local heavy metal band Satins ´n´ Lace (later renamed Jamback) and did so for many years. In 2006, Silent Call was joined by progressive metal drummer powerhouse Mikael Kvist (Elsesphere, Fate). “Creations from a chosen path” in 2008 was featuring spectacular guest appearances by the likes of Göran Edman (Yngwie Malmsteen, Brazen Abbot, Vindictiv) on vocals and Daniel Flores (Mind's Eye) on drums. Crisp guitar work, a plethora of keyboards and great lead vocals are all to be found here and should attract all progressive metal fans.

Symphony X

Spoke to Mike today, and he sounded really happy about the progress that the band's making on the new cd. "Technically, we could be done" he said. "I put together some pre-production mixes for us to listen to, and it's all solid. We have over an hour of really good stuff that we really dig; there's more than enough stuff there that we can choose the best songs to go on the cd..but all of the songs are really strong. And there are two almost-done songs that we're going to try to wrap up in the next few days as well, one is shaping up to be 10 minutes plus; it's really cool stuff that we gotta use." He and Russell have started working through lyrics, and the band plans to start tracking in early March. "I think everyone will like it" he said, "it has a little bit of everything."

..Hi everyone. The writing process has begun for album number four. Few details are available now but as things start to gel together a little more I will return with better info. What I can say is most likely this album will be an intentional "sync to movie" presentation. Rumors have swirled around many of my influences such as Floyd and Rush about some of their older releases and the synchronicity with classic flix. Of course this has always been traced back to speculation yet no less intriguing. Thus, it is my goal to do one of my own with a modern sound and a modern movie without the shroud of secrecy that usually comes with such a production. Wish me and the cast luck, it's going to be something we've never tried before. Here's hoping for a release sometime late this year. In the meantime, PROG-ON!!!

I hope that it is more like their previous releases.  I really didn't care all that much for Paradise Lost.

Mind Key - AWESOME~!
Redemption
Spheric Universe
Pathosray
Enochian Theory
Andromeda

I use Microsoft's Marketplace and have a Zune Pass so I can download unlimited as it is subscription format, so I have probably d/l 50 albums and actually purchased at least 10 permanently in the past month.

I don't quite know why they wouldn't use the live sound in this video (unless it was crap, obviously) but nevertheless these guys need some major promotion for their 2009 album "For Moments Never Done"

...and the fact it made my top 5 of 2009 as well Big smile Wink

Enjoy and buy!

Mattsson

Mattsson is a name that has become synonymous with melodic progressive metal fused with symphonic, neo-classical and ethnic touches. This direction is continued and taken to a higher level for “Tango”, the fifth album to be released under the Mattsson banner. Led by guitarist / composer Lars Eric Mattsson, “Tango” sees the collaboration between Mattsson and vocalist Adrienn Antal who first paired up on 2008’s “Dreamchild” release build upon its predecessors impressive foundations for this overall heavier release.

See calendar for further info.

Steve have you heard of Circus Maximus? I just found them on the Zune Marketplace as a related artist. I d/l both albums "The 1st Chapter" and "Isolate". So far very good, bio makes references to a lot of DT influence....although the singer reminds me of Geoff Tate from Queensryche......

Just thought I would mention it and try and return the favor of new bands. The bands website says they are working on a new album for late 2010.

Cheers

Indeed I have Jose. Thanks for the suggestion though Big smile

I have both of their albums and am looking forward to the new release this year (fingers crossed)

Not played them for a while, I'll add them to my rotation list for tomorrow.

Conversely, do you have John Arch's "A Twist Of Fate"?

Probably my favourite EP.

If you have Mucho Kudos, if not, you'll be glad you checked it out! Wink
