1976: WELCOME - Welcome (Symphonic Prog Switzerland) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41Wa9Nbketo&t=1s
At long last, it's a warm welcome for the Swiss prog meisters, Welcome. Does It Really Happen that they have a singer AND a bass player who sounds remarkably like Chris Squire on Fish Out of Water? Yes, It Can Happen. Dirge (this delightful closing song is no dirge) |

This song is so good. I love this part in particular that goes like this:
Angels of destruction brandishing their inhuman arms Fell upon the place that had so safely sheltered our games Agents of an Evil Power sent to blemish the world Tore our soil that held the roots of many a lineage of man At the very end, it's very cleverly reprised in instrumental form on the minimoog. I hadn't noticed the lyrics to "Dirge", but now that you mention them, they are rather good. I'm looking forward to listening to Welcome's second and final album on Prog Line tomorrow.

My favorite song on You're Welcome is the 16 minute The Whip. I think it's by far the best song on the album.

^ Thanks for the recommendation. The whip sounds like a cracking good song!
=================================================== 1975: WHITE WING - White Wing (Progressive Rock United States) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IX2hSNwP8PI&t=2s If you're in the mood to try something a little different, then try the high-flying sound of White Wing. They're an eclectic blend of the Mellotron magic of the Moody Blues, combined with the heavy power riffing of Uriah Heep, so you can expect the unexpected with this one-off album. Hansa (Cygnus) |

A moody ambient soundscape, just like the album title implies.

It's all relative..... at least, that's the theory, after hearing the worst album in the world of prog last night, but thankfully, this album sounds rather good to my ears. E=mc-2 [tube]

Very nice indeed! Maybe not quite a classic like Camel's Moonmadness, but Zoldar & Clark are making Lunar Progressions in that direction. Edited by Psychedelic Paul - July 08 2021 at 12:01 |

^ Admittedly, I don't own any of the 270+ treasured albums featured on this prog blog - the vast majority of which I'd never heard of before - so I have a lot of catching up to do to even approach your awesome prog collection.

No catching up needed....at any rate I was very lucky to meet this guy many years ago who burned many odd prog and psych things for me.
