Because he had nothing and thats all he could afford at the time.

Today ladies and gentlemen we have a swift match between a couple of lightweights. As Mei regales the crowd with a series of dances and flourishes, Biaxident turns his back his opponent. As the fight commences, the two combatants near each other, and Mei takes the first swipe, landing a debilitating hit to Biaxident's ribs. The wounded rookie crumbles, and Mei enchants the crowd again. As Mei's back is turned, Biaxident takes his opportunity, but Mei is anticipating him. Mei dodges out of the way, trips his opponent, and buries his halberd in Biaxident's backside, ending the man's short run in the gladiatorial arena.

By 2v2, I mean you can send in two of your own, or team up with another master. If you are disproportionately powerful (as a certain slave warrior in this game is Wink

), you are free to negotiate terms with your partner. 2v2 matches will pay 20 gold instead of 10, and the standard rule is that the gold will be divided evenly among the two victors (even if one dies, the money still goes to the master). However, you can say, "I'll only team up with you if I get 15 gold."

I love RPGs, but I have no one to play with here (I have to wait until my son hits his teens! LOL

). The trouble with trying to do a traditional RPG in a forum is that not everyone is on at the same time to play, and a story mode can really be burdensome. This way the game can happen at everyone's leisure, and there's no micromanaging characters. Smile

I'm saying he had a halberd- the spear seems superfluous unless he gets another warrior.

I'm saying that he bought the spear first because that was all he could afford.
