^^ Three of my top modern prog bands  I've been listening to a lot of music in the tech/extreme prog metal category right now. Here are some faves: 1. Death (just got every album of theirs....) 2. Edge of Sanity (still need a few more albums....) 3. Opeth (I finally own every album of theirs!!!)

I think my all time list would have to be Gong, Magma, and...well, third is a tie between a lot of bands, but probably Gentle Giant or Zappa.
