One of the best groups out of Germany, IMO. Absolutely essential for Mellotronheads! |

I have never used so many times the word Mellotron in a review, Verslibre, 7 times in a relative short review
Yesterday I heard that the new Rick Wakeman album is loaded with Mellotron

Today I got the news from a friend that indeed Retro 2 has been released recently so we have to hurry Verslibre
This evening I had goose bumps during Netherworld their instrumental epic entitled Cumulo Nimbus Part 3 (on the Musea CD release), what a wonderful choir-Mellotron waves

In the booklet of the compilation "The Moody Blues: Gold" I read that Michael Pinder was employed in the factory that built the Mellotron! Here because the Mellotron was so very worn from the Moody Blues! Here because it was a custom Mellotron outside in all series!
So THE MOODY BLUES is my Melloron band!!! |

Wow -- progholes really DO go on and on about mellotrons!
How not to be shy, Lesson 12-b -- Try this conversational gambit with the young lady: "How about those mellotrons, eh?"

Come to my arms, my beamish boy! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!' He chortled in his joy. |

here's a tron-drenched goodie I've been spinning lately...
oy, the cover blends right in. The music is pure and peaceful just as the cover; there's enough tron to cover the absence of electric guitar and drums.
As erik would say, this album carries me away to progheaven Edited by jimmy_row - September 05 2007 at 16:33 |

Jimmy, ever heard of Italian progrock band Standarte? Their second album entitled Curses And Invocations is a wet dream for vintage keyboard aficionados, especially the Mellotron, see my review

In this moment I am listening to for the first time "Headline News" by Atomic Rooster ("Rebel With A Clause" package) ... If Crane instead of the Hammond (?) had used the Mellotron... Oh my God!!!
Because this is Doom Metal (or 80's Hard Rock) but very Prog and exciting!!! Edited by Mandrakeroot - September 07 2007 at 04:30 |

I am a huge Atomic Rooster fan since many years, I love the late Vince Crane his exciting Hammond organ solos and the powerful guitar, great Heavy Prog I don't think the Mellotron would have matched with their sound, Mandrakeroot but it's a challenging thought!
