^ Barring a massive find, it will make my top 5.

And I do wish I could have been there!

Was Dialeto's from this year as well? I did enjoy that one. Very intriguing mix of sounds...a perfect fit for the Moonjune label.

Can't wait to hear October Equus' other new one for 2013 (under The OE Quartet).

I think Dialeto's was from this year! Yes, it was good, grunty and noisy one second, emotional the next! Very nice album.

I've also got the latest Marbin and simakDialog from Moonjune to get through too, expecting good things from them! I'll really need to do a quick run through of all of them before the year ends!

Also, thanks for the tip-off about the QE Quartet title, might have passed me by if I wasn't paying attention!

Not a brilliant year with a few disappointments along the way, but a few gems.

1.  Steven Wilson - The Raven....
2.  Boards of Canada - Tomorrows Harvest
3.  Rovo/System 7 - Phoenix Rising
4.  Flower Kings - Desolation Rose
5.  Klaus Schulze - Shadowlands
6.  Amplifier - Echo Street
7.  Big Big Train - EE Part 2
8.  Future Sound of London - Environments 4
9. Black Sabbath - 13

I suppose the new DT may make no.10 but I found that pretty disappointing.

Cool. Yeah, I like it (Dialeto) as being something a bit different from the general modern fusion scene (something that can be very miss for me, ironically perhaps). I'll give another listen to it before years end for sure.

Not to dissuade you, but I wasn't enthralled by the new Simakdialog. A bit too low key for my tastes (ditto for the new Dewa Budjana album). But certainly try it out for size! Can't remember if I've heard the Marbin one, but I'll give it a listen as well.

And np! October Equus seems oddly prolific all of a sudden. A very good thing IMO.

Chrome Hoof's new one is slowly but steadily cementing itself as a top slot contender for me, and that's what it's all about in the end: winning the championship on PATongue
Maybe we could think up a prize for next year - something like a purple Mellotron or a date with Damo Suzuki.

I had Chrome Hoof on constant rotation in the car about a month ago. I've had to put it back in the car as I kept reaching for it. It grooves beyond belief.

It may just be that it's new and fresh, but at the moment I think it's the best album they've made.

Ok. Sounds like something I must give a spin. Chrome Hoof huh? The name alone sounds like it would be a zeuhl or rio/avant guarde band. Anyway. I'll give it some attention.

Oh as a far as a prize goes for next year how about taking a ride on the 'Fish-Blimp' that is on the cover of YES's Fragile album, and flying it across the universe while playing the top rated/voted PA album for that year.
Weird I know, but it would be awesome. Regardless.
Anyway. I think next years winner may be IQ's up coming release that will be out I think in April. ;)
5 years the wait.....should be great.
