Banzai Runner?

Dean Stockwell starred in that one and it came out in '87.

Is he Tommy Lee Jones? ("The Fugitive" starring Harrison Ford?
Probably not, I don't remember it having that scene.)
  How about some hint, Geezer?

It is Dean Stockwell just like billyshears said but he is not really playing the lead role in this movie! The movie is by a German director and is a Golden Palm winner!

If this is Robert Mitchum, I would say Howard Hawks : El Dorado. If I remember well he played an alcoholic sherif in this film.

Looks a little like Henry Fonda from Once Upon a Time in the West?

But is it?

It is, it is the 'Flash back scene' when Fonda  kills the brother of Charles Bronson. I just bought the 2DVD edition, and saw the film yesterday with the audio commentarys on. Claudia Cardinale speaks mainly about Visconti, Bertolucci speaks about himself but the biggest and most interesting  part comes from Sir Christopher Frayling, who wrote a Leone Biography and his commentary alone is worth the purchase.

I have the 2DVD edition as well!

Actually, I only buy a few DVDs a year and this one is a must!
