I mentioned it because it's Controversial and this thread is about "Prog's Most Controversial Lyricist".

An album being a bit offensive to you isn't Controversial with a capital "C"

What I'm talking about is Part Two of "The Incident" called "The Blind House".
What it's about is very controversial and it offended me.

What offends you about it? That there are child-abusing religious cults out there or that someone tells the world about them?

Snow Puppy I guess it all depends on how open minded a person might be, open minded people tend to take less offense I think different factors do play a major role too I know

I know Steven Wilson has said that he doesn't condone those kind of things but I feel that that is too strong a subject matter to write about.

Censorship is a cancer to art. i say bring on the offense, and make me feel something, and make me think about something. The fact that you're so offended simply means that Wilson and Waters did there jobs as genuine artists.

Someone has to write about them. If no one exposes the works of darkness, then who will fight them? You're entitled to choose what music you do and don't want to listen to (and I quite understand not being fond of that particular song; even though I'm not familiar with it, the subject matter as described here doesn't exactly sound pleasant). But I admire any artist who has the courage to stand up and say something about the evil in this world.

These are the lyrics from "The Blind House" that offended me.
"Faith is in your soul But in these walls Hormones stall Dogs will crawl The vices and the doubt We resist All this s**t So kneel submit
Free love Free love Feel love in all my sisters"

I'm pretty sure that these lyrics condone sexual abuse. That is why it offends me. But I admit there is chance that I could be misunderstanding what the lyrics mean.
If the latter is the case, Then what are the lyrics trying to say?

The lyrics are about the sexual abuse of young girls by religious cults - they are relating the story of the "Incident" not condoning it. Just because a lyric refers to a particular act it does not mean that they are condoning that act. If a character in a Shakespeare play condones the murder of someone it does not mean that Shakespeare condoned that murder.

I still think that the majority of bad and controversial lyricists are the ones that never play or create an album of music, and then SING it ... very 20th/21st century thing with all the blogs, clogs, and troggs and boards, wouldn't you say, Dean?

I find these lyrics from "The Planets" by Flaming Youth to be controversial.
"Mackie's gone on rubber, while our Debbie digs her brother And their Des is doing well on the game"
