So only Systematic Chaos has somewhat dissapointed you since TOT. Interesting...I really like that one.

Pretty much; though Ive warmed up to it in recent years. I have a lot of emotional attachment to Octavarium, so I was expecting a lot with SC. It also came out at a time when I had moved away from almost all prog music, and was mostly listening to jazz and funk.
BC&SL rekindled my interest in DT and prog music in general. I would give BC&SL 5 stars if A Rite Of Passage were removed from the track listing, as I feel it ruins the flow of the album (though an ok song as it is, not the best, but ok.)

ADTOE exceeded my expectations. It's the album I expected after Octavarium.

I could never give ADToE StarStarStarStarStar.......based on the definition in the PA for ratings, it misses too many marks, and even my own rating system would not allow it. I can listen to SC without skipping songs due to the epicness of In the Presence PT 1/2. Prophets of War is my only quiver with SC.....but I just turn the volume down usually.

Yeah I love TOT. That was their perfected metal album. I think that's where SC and Black Clouds failed slightly. (though still good albums since Dream Theater is unable to make a bad album). And I will give love to the track on TOT Honor Thy Father. Does anybody else think that track is just ridiculous? Especially the drum intro? WOW
I also love This Dying Soul with the death metal breakdown that would make any metalhead cry and the insane instrumental runs in the last 2 min of the song...

Sometimes I think Honor Thy Father is the best song on ToT. It is certainly one of the best songs on ToT; up there with This Dying Soul, Endless Sacrifice, and In The Name Of God.
