A rather diverse list there.LOL

Ok here's the real list:

  • Magma
  • Pat Metheny Group
  • Genesis
  • Änglagård
  • Gentle Giant
  • King Crimson
  • Jethro Tull
  • Peter Gabriel
After that, there's just a huge list of equal bands and composers. A lot of the bands in that puddle of bands are only not on the above list because I don't know enough by them. (Henry Cow, for example: Western Culture blew me away, but that's all I know by them at this point.)

OK, here's the real list:

  • Magma
  • Magma
  • Magma
  • Magma
  • Magma
  • Magma
  • Magma
  • Magma
  • Magma
  • Eskaton

The Irish gave the bagpipes to the Scotts as a joke, but the Scotts haven't seen the joke yet.

You know the T, we could make a top 100 of bands with this result! Like the one of albums, only that with bands! Should be interesting to see which band is at number one... I predict it wil either be King Crimson or Genesis!

In no particular order:

Genesis
Rush
The Police
Wu-Tang Clan (not a rock band, but a band nonetheless, and some of them actually do play instruments unlike most hip hop groups)
Yes
Pantera
Frank Zappa
Sepultura
Kansas
Led Zeppelin

Would you like some Bailey's?

almost impossible, but based on who I listen to most, seen live most, and never tire of:

Genesis
Yes
Porcupine Tree
Neil Young
Bruce Springsteen
Bob Dylan
Pink Floyd
Renaissance
Stereolab
King Crimson

I am making an exception for the Beatles, who are a given, but I never got to see live.

encouraging to see Porcupine Tree on so many people's top 10 lists.
When I started listening to them circa 1998-99, I got blank looks whenever I mentioned them.
