Thanks for the updates. Yes might very well be my all time favorite band (if anyone is) so these polls are always interesting to look at. I'm glad to see tales ranked at five considering it's such a polarizing album. I'm also surprised to see Fragile at number two (and ahead of TYA) considering how so many fans seem to like TYA better because of the filler sections on Fragile (which never bothered me).

I'm surprised Fragile is at #2 as well, considering it's not even in my Top 10. If I'd run this poll a year later, then maybe The Quest would've deservedly made it into the final Top 7, but then again, maybe that's just Wishful Thinking. |

I wasn't complaining since Fragile is in my top 3 or 4 just surprised as were you.
Is China Crisis prog? I've heard of them. They were an 80's band I think. ;)

with the risk of sounding like gossip I (and I bet many others) still don't know if Paul's trolling everyone when it comes to Yes, or he's the weirdest Yes listener.

Yes, if Synth-Pop band Talk Talk are considered Crossover Prog, then I guess China Crisis are prog too, or is that just Wishful Thinking again?

You have to listen to the later Talk Talk albums (especially the wonderful Spirit of Eden) - they were anything but a synth-pop band then.

obviously Talk Talk are on PA because of their last two albums, it's not that hard to understand. And even for their synth pop work, is there a synth pop band better than that? I can't think of any. Please prove me wrong...

Spirit of Eden & Laughing Stock are my two least favourite Talk Talk albums, and you asked if there any better Synth-Pop bands than Talk Talk? Yes, there are.... China Crisis Depeche Mode Eurythmics Flock of Seagulls Goldfrapp The Human League Jon and Vangelis Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark Thompson Twins Ultravox Visage When in Rome Yazoo .... to name just a few. I actually went out and bought Talk Talk's Sprit of Eden thinking it was going to be another classic Synth-Pop album, so it turned out to be a big disappointment.

Human league better than Talk Talk. I could die laughing now. Visage? - No way. I'm surprised you didn't put Duran Duran and Tears for Fears in your list. Also Jon & Vangelis are not synth-pop/new wave. None of the bands in your list can raise up to the smoothness and flow that Talk Talk had, whether they were synth pop, or the experimental sound of their last two albums. How can anyone call Spirit of Eden a disappointment is beyond me.

^ You may die laughing, but it just so happens that The Human League are my favourite Synth-Pop band out of all of those listed above.
...And as for Talk Talk's dismal Laughing Stock, that just Fades to Grey in my memory... I think we have gone a little off-topic here.
