If this topic has been covered before I apologize.  I find it hard to believe it hasn't, but I did a search and didn't find any results.

Some of my very favorite songs all-time have acoustic 12-string guitars on them.  I love the richness and beauty of that instrument, especially when two or more are used.

I love the way Genesis used them in Stagnation, Supper's Ready, The Musical Box, Ripples, Entangled, just to name a few.  I saw Transatlantic in San Francisco in 2010  and some of my favorite parts of the concert were the use of the 12-string guitars in Whirlwind.

Please recommend current (this century?) songs or albums that feature the 12-string acoustic guitar.  I would highly recommend Anthony Phillip's Field Day (2005).  I am always in search of new groups that incorporate that sound in their music.

If this has been covered before, please provide the link.

Thanks!

I've been thinking of asking this question for a while.
Other than Genesis I don't have too many answers.  Father and son band Lost Kite, who will hopefully be added to PA soon, have some good 12-string stuff.  http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=96124

I can only really think of Genesis (especially Trespass) and Anthony Phillips' solo stuff - nothing from this century. Never heard "Field Day" though. Might give it a listen! Big smile

De Stoomwals, and in fact all other Flairck songs with 12-string guitar. I highly recomend all their stuff, especialy Gevecht Met De Engel, De Optocht and Symphony For The Old World.

The one that comes to mind immediately is the Yes classic, "And You and I":

Also Strawbs use 12-string throughout many of their songs:

Might I suggest "The Same Old Rock" from Roy Harper's Stormcock, with Roy and S. Flavius Mercurius (Jimmy Page) duetting on acoustics, at least one of which is a 12-string. Hard to tell how many with overdubs.
