WYWH? Ummm, no. I do have to agree that it kind of interrupts the mood of DSOTM. Maybe "Money" should have been a "single-only" release, that could end up later on a "best of" compilation.

So many to choose from, but Money is by far the worst.

Personally I always thought the Great Gig in the Sky was the weakest. The gospel vocals always irritated me, considering I despise gospel music. Other than that I don't have a problem with this album, it's very good!

^ It's never a bad idea to have some diversity on an album and just take a break from all the depression. Oh, well.

It does conceptually if not musically. The album is Waters' statement as an implicit proposition on how to handle life. |
Yes I agree, conceptually it fits definitely...but musically not. The riff...

I suppose On The Run has a bit of early electronic experimentation about it which makes it interesting. Money has a change of time signature mid way through the track which is about the only interesting thing about it (imo)

That's interesting and true. Money is like a bleed over from The Wall or something.

On the Run. But only because it's a bitch to whistle.

What's all the dislike for "On the Run"? I've never liked techno/dance/chill-out myself, but I really like the sounds on it. It's just ... mad. The climax at the end (the "explosion") ... poohhhhhhhh ... poommmmmmmm ... .
Since "Brain Damage" is an introspective song, I won't touch it. "Eclipse" has some embarrassingly cheap-a$% lyrics. Finally, as a sales associate, I can tell you this: "Money" has features, but it has no benefits. It's not very engaging at all levels. I'll vote when I'll decide which track I'll kick in the nuts.

Money is my least favorite but it's not too bad either, it's just a radio hit.

I LOVE "Money". 28 votes... I don't even...
The money sound effects intro (in 7/4 time, no less!), the bass line,
the lyrics, the sax, the guitar solo in 4/4, and the return to 7/4...
COME ON people. This was a pop song that did great on the charts, and an ingenious one at that, considering everything I mentioned above. So innovative, so smart, and so seriously groovy.
... But to each his own... I expected "On the Run" to "run" away with this one.
