I went for The Island. One of my favorite songs. The only BAD song on the album in my opinion is "The Perfect Crime."
It was the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, the perfect, it was the perfect CRIME!

The Island for sure. Shortly followed by the Crane Wife 3 and The Shankill Butchers

Since "The Island" will get enough votes, I went with the album's closer.

I assure you that you are not the only one, but I find the album as a whole a lot less consistent than most people. The ratio of good to bad songs (to my ears) is about 1:1. My vote goes to "O Valencia!"

The Island is a classic Decemberists song so it gets my vote, Shankill Butchers is my second choice

What the hell's going on here? Is there some strange conjoining or alignment of planets or other orbs? My wife insisted, I mean insisted, that I play The Crane Wife yesterday. And so we listened. I love The Island. I love the Crane Wife triptych. But more than all I like Summersong. I could, and sometimes do, listen to it all day.

I was just thinking someone should do this as a poll just yesterday.
I love the entire thing- probably my favorite album from this wonderful and thoughtful band.
I have a soft spot for "Yankee Bayonet."

The album is sort of folkish indie alt with prog leanings. It's definitely worth a listen. Off the poll, I'd say, The Island.

Not a bad one in the bunch, and some nice diversity of songs. The Island has its power and grandeur, but there are parts of Crane Wife 1 & 2 which send chills down my spine - and that doesn't happen very often, so that got my vote.

Man it is a great album, very consistent. And Shankill Butchers is always great to sing along to. But I went with The Island
