You have to put Tarkus as one whole song (it IS one song)
Anyway I voted for The Only Way (If you had put Tarkus as a song I would have voted for this one)

Sur tant de mers, tant de planchers,
Un marin mort,
Il dormira

That would have been to easy... Everybody would have voted for Tarkus! Anyway, the opener of the album, Eruption, is one of the most amazing prog composition, and arguably the finest moment of ELP's career.

Like some others here, I see side 1 of Tarkus as one epic track. I vote for Battlefield, which is my favourite part of it.

Tarkus is one track, I would like to refer to the Gestaltpsychologie: The whole is more then the sum of parts.

It may be one body of work or a suite, but it definitely isn't one track.

I agree that Tarkus one unit, but so what? Then this poll would be pointless. Let's do what we prog-lovers do best- over-analyze!
And over-analyze I shall. I think I will listen to Tarkus as soon as the wife leaves and vote.

Me too.
For me it's one of the most wonderful moments in prog moments when Greg Lake starts singing: "Has the dawn ever seen your eyes, have the days made you so unwise..." Magnificent lyrics, sung by Lake in a great way, over the wonderful chord changes of Emerson.
