If anyone thinks this is a really difficult list to make (partly because there are so many to choose from), I would have to agree with you. But I would appreciate it if you gave it a go. Smile

My list (very subject to change):

1. Thick As A Brick
2. Minstrel In The Gallery
3. Hunting Girl
4. Aqualung
5. With You There To Help Me
6. A Passion Play
7. Sweet Dream
8. Locomotive Breath
9. To Cry You A Song
10. Baker Street Muse

Honourable mentions: Fat Man, Living In The Past, Velvet Green, Witches Promise etc.

I'd put Baker Street up higher, replace Aqualung with My God, then delete Hunting Girl and add Dark Ages.

Locomotive Breath

Thick As a Brick

I love the song "kelpie". I know it's only available as a bonus track on the JT 20 years compilation and on the remastered version of 'Stormwatch', but it really qualifies as one ofthe most underrated JT songs. It features some subime combination of flute and mandolin in the chorus. But JT released so many goo songs (well, so many good ALBUMS) that it's too difficult a task to chose only 10 out of the their huge discography. I would say that all their albums relaesed in the seventies are excellent (yes, even 'too old to r'n'r too young to die') and I also love 'A' which features probably their best instrumental track to date.

"Magma was the very first gothic rock band" (Didier Lockwood)

I am listening to Kelpie right now and it is pretty good. I agree it is one of JT's lesser known great songs.
