Another random apples v. oranges selection here... probably more so than any of the other polls so far. Some of the masters of Electronic Prog v. one of the most enigmatic Avant groups of all time. Which one will reign superior?
Please: If you are not familiar with one or both of the band's material, I urge that you use the links provided and at least listen to the samples on their respective pages. I'm gunna vote based on the fact I'm too lazy to listen to the samples, and that I've only heard stuff from Tangerine Dream

Tangerine Dream, no doubt about it. Their compositions are better, their names are known and they have never felt the need to pull the work of others through the shredder.

4O years of wonderful TANGERINE DREAM music will do the trick!!
Don't listen to the grumpy naysayers who tell you that TD never recorded anything good after 1980!!!
that's not true....not everything is perfect like with every other band for sure but they still record great music to this day-2008...Just listen to it!
And a lot of it! Seems Edgar Froese never takes a vacation Edited by febus - September 08 2008 at 11:37 |

TD for me. Rubycon, Phaedra, Force Majeure. Enough said. And my vote makes it 6-1. I smell a potential massacre.

Tangerine Dream's Phaendra, Alpha Centauri and Electronic Meditation, surpases any album of The Residents

With 17 votes it's already been decided. Well, here's the first poll that wasn't extremely close.
Come on, Residents fans! I know there must be more out there! |

I know there are more people out there who have heard them! And if you haven't, give their samples a try! |

The great thing about all of these polls is that they were randomly selected. Most of them work out pretty well. However, some of them are really hard to choose for that reason. |

'nuff respect to the Tangs, but if my house was burning down I'd rescue my Residents albums first. |

Both bands are too close to my heart for me to choose. I guess I'll go with the Residents because they don't get enough love around hear.
