There has been no update on the site Vintageprog.com since 28 May last year. What has happened?

having been recently trawling the net for festival info, one thing that has struck me are the sheer number of redundant, abandoned prog web sites there are, cluttering up the place...sites which looked promiseing, but never really got off the ground.
I suppose this is due to many of the sites only being administered by one or two people, and as Mickey so elegantly puts it, they just might have died....

^ this site is also only administered by one person, at least from a technical standpoint. Come to think of it - I can't think of any prog website which actually has a team of technical administrators/owners.

Which begs the question....and I honestly am not trying to be morbid or insensitive, but lets face it, everything is possible... If something did happen to our Max, is this site essentially finished at that moment? |

^ a good question indeed. I guess that unless there is a business corporation behind a website, we can never be 100% sure that it will still be there tomorrow. But then again ... what really is certain in life?

Ronald was a co-founder, right? Maybe the site would pass to Max's closest team members?
Sounds better than being passed to a Corporation. Here's hoping Max lives forever!!! |

Don't forget about graphix, the second webmaster of PA.

Sorry, I can't enlighten you any re the future security of PA. The admin team have no involvement at all in the commercial and technical aspects.
As a purely personal guess, I would have throught the site has some value, and could be sold as a going concern.
On the positive side, M@x is young and healthy!

UPDATE!! Tommy is fine, and Vintageprog.com is too. He is simply taking a break from writing and will return when he feels he is ready. He thanked everyone for being concerned about him.
Good news!! |

UPDATE:
Tommy (Vintage Prog site guy) has announced that he will no longer be updating the site. He does not say why, but does say he will leave the site up as a resource. And a fine resource it is. I love his willingness to be brutally frank when he doesn't like something. And he always seems to find one line that really nails the essence of the album. Kudos to Tommy! |

Do the math. How much of his life has this guy spent lisstening to music ? Still it`s great to see he leaving it. It`s one of the few sites other than PA, DGMs Site, blazemonger.com ( GG s site ) and my email that I really bother with.
