KAYO DOT- DOWSING ANENOME WITH COPPER TONGUE

This sophomore release by the US Prog-Metallers swept the Collaborator’s
vote by a considerable margin. Carrying on the experimentation of debut album “Choirs
Of The Eye”, this album combines metal with elements of Jazz and Post-Rock
without any of those styles necessarily under-pinning the main compositional
whole. It’s not free-form Jazz, it doesn’t contain any riffs and can sometimes feel
like a dark and twisted voyage into the abyss - but is executed with so much
aplomb that it works.And then some!

Prog Reviewer and respected Prog-Metal aficionado "Trickster F." came to this conclusion in his glowing 5 Star review:
“The aim of this album is to make an attentive
listener think carefully and reconsider his values in music, it is not meant to
impress someone just because it can. Approach with caution, thoughtfulness and
an open mind - this album is too important to be misunderstood”

PFM - STATI DI IMMAGIONAZIONE

It’s 36 years since the release of PFM’s seminal ISP album “Storia
Di Un Minuto” and only Mussida and Di Cioccio remain from the original line up
but somehow they’ve managed to create something both quintessentially PFM and yet
a new and modern presentation of the band’s style. The album is totally
instrumental and yet is as lyrical as any of the classics from their glorious
past. 

Legendary PA Special Collaborator & Prog Reviewer Erik Neuteboom was ecstatic
in his admiration:

STEVE HACKETT - WILD ORCHIDS

Another Prog thoroughbred eases into the top 5, this time
virtuoso guitarist Steve Hackett who has consistently released top quality
material since he left Genesis 30 years ago. Continuing on from the excellent “To
Watch The Storms” and employing the classic expressions of “Metamorpheus” this
album sees a blend of Rock, Classical and Jazz with just a hint of darkness to
keep things spicy and one might add idiosyncratic, if not downright eccentric.

Symphonic Prog Team Member “Bhikkhu” enthused:
“Wow, and again, wow. What a treat to have a progressive
icon delivering music of this caliber, this late in his career. I would have
been satisfied if was just decent. The previews had it looking pretty good, but
this is one of the few times that expectations have been far exceeded.”

PURE REASON REVOLUTION - THE DARK THIRD

These English rockers create their own special blend of
spacey Art Rock and are gradually building a big reputation for themselves. This
album builds on the promise of their mini-album “Cautionary Tales…” and
delivers in spades. PRR’s  blend of Beach
Boy like harmonies, Floydian arrangements and Indie band street cred all go
towards creating a surprisingly fresh
and uplifting sound.

Prog Reviewer “Equality 7-2521” had this to say:
“Never once while listening to this album do I realize I'm
laying in bed with headphones on or even listening to music at all. An
experience, rather than music, would be a better way to describe the wonders
contained here.”

TOOL - 10,000 DAYS

Prog-Metallers Tool are not a band to rush out a release
every 12 months so manage to build up a head of feverish anticipation with news
of every new album. This follows on some five years after the triumph that was “Lateralus”
and judging by the vote they didn’t let anyone down. Always experimental Tool
confounded some of their fans with some of their musical explorations but this
album hit #1 on the Billboard Album Chart which suggests popular success whilst
maintaining their integrity.

Prog Reviewer “Zitro” was overcome with superlatives:

“An absolute masterpiece that should be considered a Masterpiece
and mentioned in music history as an artistic peak in modern music. This is my
favourite album after the 70s and easily the best metal-related album I have
heard so far.”
