I doubt it.  Even if they do release a new album, it very likely won't be enough material for a full show.  They will certainly play at least a few old songs.  I wonder if they can rock hard like The Mars Volta now.  I know they were no slouches when it came to heavy music in their day, but still, I can't see them writing new material that fast and heavy anymore.  Most bands tone it down a lot as they age (except for King Crimson).  Imagine Phil Collins in a death metal band a la Opeth (who probably is the most Genesisy band of today)?

Right, but also shouldn't expect it, because Collins said clearly that he wants to play drums only, doesn't want to sing any track.

I can  imagine Peter singing and Steve playing  Eleventh Earl or One for he Vine but not Home by the Sea.

As long as they open with 'Dancing With The Moonlight Knight' and 'The Cinema Show' 'Firth of Fifth' 'Supper's Ready' and 'The Colony Of Slipperman' is in the set somewhere I will be a happy panda.

I can't believe people are mentioning trio-era stuff like Home By the Sea. C'mon, even if you like that, that track was in their set list for years.

And In the Cage was also in the set list for way too long.

My list, in no particular order: The Knife, Hogweed, Salmacis, Can Utility, Watcher of the Skies, Moonlight Knigth, Firth of Fifth, Cinema Show, Lillywhite Lilith, Dance on a Volcano, Ripples, Entangled, Squonk, Eleventh Ear of Marl

Watcher of the Skies
I know What I Like
The Fountain of Salmacis
Dance on A Volcano (It would be great to here Gabriel to that one)
Firth of Fifth
Cinema Show
One for the Vine (Gabriel Vocals)
Musical Box
The Knife (Live Version)
The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway
Fly on A Windsheild
In the Cage
Back in NYC
Carpet Crawlers
The Light Lies Down on Broadway
Supper's Ready

There's a band that has played all over New York State called "The Waiting Room." The Lead singer sounds EXACTLY like Gabriel. The band itself, aint' that grand, but the lead singer did a cover for One of the Vine, and with Gabriel's voice with it, however different, was awsome.

Ok...duh, Suppers Ready, but I think the one I would most like to hear has got to be The Musical Box. It is my favorite song of all time. Aside from those two, I could to listen to almost any Genesis.

Home By The Sea
Hogweed
Cinema Show
Counting Out Time
The Cage
SEBTP
Watcher of the Skies

Damn! The list could go on and on!

A well as NEW material from a NEW Gabriel fronted Genesis album, I would like to hear..

Suppers Ready
Musical Box
Fountain of Salmarcis
Stagnation
The Knife
Firth of Fifth
Cinema Show
In the Cage
The Lamia
Can Utility & the Coastliners

This is assuming that Gabriel would not be singing any Collins era songs. If he were going to, then I could probably add another 10 songs to that list!

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

I'd  go for the obvious classics: -
  • The Knife
  • Musical Box
  • Hogweed
  • Fountain of Salmacis
  • Watcher of the skies
  • Get 'em out by Friday
  • Supper's Ready
  • Moonlit Knight
  • Firth of Fifth
  • Cinema Show
  • excerpts from Lamb inc. Carpet Crawlers
+ maybe a few not so obvious such as Seven Stones, Can-Utility
The big question is - would Gabriel sing the Collins songs?

Now that Phil Collins said that he´d be glad to play with Genesis again, all of us die-hard Genesis fans know the day is getting closer.

So, what would you like to listen in a Genesis reunion concert?
