The Moodies or Procol Harum? Multiple Vote. The spirit is that you take 7 votes, one for each pair of albums. Of course, you can vote just one or two, post your comments, and still return later for more. And, if possible, tell us how is it that this things are still spinning!

I don't know either band well enough but I voted on a few:
Days Of Future Passed over Procol Harum
Shine On Brightly over In Search Of The Lost Chord
A Salty Dog over On The Threshold Of A Dream
A Question of Balance over Broken Barricades

Despite an excellent three-run album (from Lost Chord to Children's Children), I could only vote for Procol...

... until they became sour (once Trower left), however by that time, the Moodies had become redundant, so no vote past Barricades
let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

^ Paul, you made me remember to include some note about The Magnificent Moodies, their debut. The thing is, I don't see it as a strong enough competitor against Procol's own debut, not even close. So, for the sake of a fair match and an open score, I leave it out...

Shine On Brightly over In Search of the Lost Chord

Moody Blues all the way for me (probably)...

I can only remember Procol's first 4 well enough to give a fair vote, so have left the last 3 off, but I'm more of a Moodies fan personally
Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

That's okay, I wouldn't have included The Magnificent Moodies actual debut from 1965 either. Smile

I was surprised to find that Procol actually won twice - First album and Salty Dog - in my selections, but I rarely want to listen to DOFP and never cared much for OTTOAD
