Has anyone heard of Jean Michel Jarre? He's a really good synthisist/electronic artist. And he dosen't bore people like Tangerine Dream.

  • Do you like his work?

Well of course we've heard of him, and he does bore people like Tangerine Dream. Unless you like the Tangs of course as I do! Jarre is ok too, but not as good

No way, Jarre is better than TD  .

I like some of his older albums, Oxygene and Equinoxe. But I must say that most instrumental bands / people tend to be very boring from time to time. Vangelis, TD, Kitaro, Gandalf, and also Jarre...

Lol...

I've only heard Equinoxe at the moment, I think it's great. I look forward to hearing Oxygene, supposedly better.

JMJ's first four albums were pretty good, although at the time I looked down on him as a T Dream copyist. His use of synths was not as innovative as a lot of the German artists who started making that kind of cosmic electronica in the 70s, but his compositions were a lot more fully realised.

The most interesting thing of all is that if Zsa Zsa Gabor had married Jean Michel Jarre she'd have been called Zsa Zsa Jarre

So... with Jarre having been added to the archives some months ago, why was this moved to non-prog music???

It's time to make up you're own mind, Snow. TD or Jarre. It looks as if you're on the seesaw.
