For Wales, it's either Gnidrolog or Man (I prefer the latter, but many love Gnidirolog), in my opinion.
For Ireland, I'd suggest Fruupp- they have become one of my favourite groups since I heard their 2-CD anthology 'It's All Up Now'.

Italy - PFM
Holland - (very tough one but) Focus just pip Solution, Kayak and Trace
Ireland - Horslips (by a mile)
England - Camel (just from Genesis)
USA - Dream Theater (bet you never thought I'd say that but they are)
Canada - Rush (obvious!)
France - Jean Michel Jarre (if he ain't prog, I don't know what is)
Germany - The Eloy
Finland - Some great bands but I can't spell any of them!

I agree with you there, there are so many good bands from some countries and some don't even have many at all.
